Isabel Minhós Martins was born in Lisbon in 1974. When she was a child, she wanted to be a journalist, an archaeologist or a pediatrician. She didn’t end up being any of those things, but she does love what she does. She studied at the Lisbon College of Fine Arts, before working as a creative in children’s communication. Later, together with a group of friends, she founded the publisher Planeta Tangerina.
Born in Florence, but now living and working in Milan at Studio Armadillo, Angelica Gerosa is a freelance illustrator and paper designer. She considers herself a multidisciplinary designer, as she loves working with different techniques and materials, depending on specific demands. Her work is distinguished by careful research into colors and shapes and their composition.
Born in Turin, she graduated in Contemporary Theatre in 2007 while working as an early childhood educator. This encounter with children shaped her passion for wonder, play, and human care—themes that still drive her work today.
Federico García Lorca (Fuente Vaqueros 1898 - Víznar, Granada, 1936) was one of the most original Spanish poets and playwrights of the 20th century. He participated in various modernist attempts, especially the Impressionist ones. He died during the first days of the civil war, shot by Franco's men. Among his collected works are: Romancero gitano (1928), Poeta en Nueva York (1940); among his plays: Bodas de sangre (1933), Casa de Bernarda Alba (1933).
Valentino Ronchi (Milan, 1976) has published the poetry books L’epoca d’oro del cineromanzo (nottetempo, 2016), Primo e parziale resoconto di una storia d’amore (nottetempo, 2017), Buongiorno ragazzi (Fazi, 2019), Ma tu l’hai letto “Il giovane Holden”? (Graphe.it, 2024) and the novels Riviera (Fazi, 2021) and Quasi niente (fve, 2024).
Valentina Pellizzoni was born in Cantù and holds a degree in Film History from the University of Bologna, along with a Master’s in Film and Television Production. After working as an assistant director on a soap opera, she realized that if she had to choose a kind of fiction, she much preferred the kind found in books. For years, she has managed a bookstore and has been organizing and teaching training courses on children's literature. She nurtures a passion for writing and contributes articles on literature and books to specialized blogs.
Barbara Bernardini was born and has always lived in the province of Latina. She graduated in Sociology and is now studying Environmental Humanities. She has been working in publishing, cultural planning and writing for about twenty years. She writes a fortnightly newsletter, Braccia Rubate, about ecology, agriculture and books. Her first book is Dall’orto al mondo. Piccolo manuale di resistenza ecologica (Nottetempo, 2023).
Katsumi Komagata was born in 1953 in Shizuoka (Japan) and studied Graphic Design at Nippon Design Centre. After collaborating with design studios, television and communication agencies in the United States, first in Los Angeles and then in New York, he returned to Tokyo, where he founded his graphic design studio, One Stroke, in 1986. In 1990, after the birth of his daughter Ai, Katsumi Komagata created the Little Eyes series, one of his most famous and innovative works, consisting of wordless books to encourage parent-child interaction.
Born in Terni in 1984, Giulia Ceccarani graduated in Industrial Design at the Istituto Statale d’Arte and later in Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
After taking courses at Ars in Fabula in Macerata with Simone Rea and Anna Forlari, she began illustrating and writing books for children. She holds workshops for children and adults and participates in Contemporary Art exhibitions.
Ranging from graphics to illustration, from murals to mixed media works, she always reasearches a personal and unique style made up of multiple forms.
Francesco Spampinato is a full professor of Contemporary Art History at the Department of Arts of the University of Bologna. He conducts research in the fields of contemporary artistic practices and visual studies, with a focus on the relationship between contemporary art, media and technology, and on collective dynamics, electronic culture and the capacity of art to produce agency in urgent matters such as environmental issues.
