La Befana is a character of Italian folklore, an old lady or a witch who brings candies (when they're good) or charcoal (when they're bad) to children, around Christmas time. But she's much more than that! There are many traditions behind this character, made of mysteries and metamorphoses. Her arrival corresponds to the awakening of spring, with plants and animals being brought back to life, and many other precious gifts. A story full of charm, written by Barbara Cuoghi and illustrated by Elenia Beretta.
