My big family

What is a family? Sooner or later all of us get lost in the maze of kinship, trying to understand who is a great-uncle and a stepfather, what is a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law, who’s married to whom, and why someone just born, immediately becomes uncle or nephew to someone else. The protagonist of this hilarious book, together with his father, ventures to climb his own genealogical tree, happily discovering himself as a part of this big, lively, crowded universe, to a very sweet ending.

Da anni non si assisteva, come nelle due settimane trascorse, a un proliferare di immagini di contestazione e protesta. L'elezione del nuovo Presidente degli Stati Uniti d'America ha scatenato interi reggimenti di artisti e illustratori, in ogni angolo del mondo, ben determinati a far sentire la propria voce e dichiarare il proprio malcontento, nella speranza che anche le immagini contribuiscano a una sollevazione popolare globale che riesca a porre un freno a politiche dissennate e contrarie a una condivisa idea di giustizia sociale e libertà personale.

Quando è nato il mio primo figlio ho compreso quale fosse il significato dell'aggettivo "viscerale". Il mio corpo rispondeva a lui in modo riflesso bypassando la mia mente: rintanata nell'ultima stanza della corsia dopo il cesareo, in quel reparto inondato di pianti di neonati, il mio corpo riconosceva già quello di mio figlio prima di me e cominciava a grondare latte da tutte le parti senza che lui fosse nemmeno lì.


Da cosa nasce cosa

Penso che una delle maggiori soddisfazioni che possa avere chi insegna (anche un dilettante dell'insegnamento come me), sia assistere personalmente a un utilizzo inedito e innovativo del materiale proposto allo studio degli allievi.
